A Historical city
The city of Saint Malo used to shelter famous privateers in the 18th century and we invite you to discover this mysterious world. The “Malouinières”, ship owners’ dwellings and the privateer’s ships with their roaring cannons will welcome you.
You will discover well-known characters such as Jacques Cartier, who founded Quebec, or Chateaubriand, the poetical author, as well as Vauban’s architectural ingenuity and his amazing warships. Ramparts will fascinate you with an all-round view and riddles will lead you to unusual places inside the city’s walls, called “Intra Muros”.
