Our company emerged from “Schiffswerft Neptun”, one of the oldest German shipbuilding companies with a rich tradition. During the 150 years of the company’s history we have built more than 1,500 new ships and repaired thousands of vessels for owners worldwide. The building of new sea-going ships was discontinued after the re-unification of Germany, and as a consequence of the requirement to open up new fields of production the Neptun Werft shipyard concentrates on new markets.
Since 1997 we are a part of the "Meyer Neptun Group". This was the beginning of a new era with a strict orientation towards the future.
“NEPTUN” was resumed in April 2001 with the start of flame-cutting work for the river cruise vessel “A’ROSA BELLA”. Today we have plenty of experience in the building of river cruise vessels.
With our efficient projecting and designing capacities on the spot, with up-to-date equipment and process engineering and an experienced management we stand for an excellent price/performance ratio, for delivery according to schedule and for highest quality. In the last decade Neptun Werft has delivered six river cruise vessels to A-Rosa, four for the Danube and two, which are operated on the river Rhone. Furthermore a lot of very innovative ships (TwinCruiser) for the German customer Premicon, Munich, were delivered in the last years. Two more ships of this type will be delivered in 2007.
